the done list 2010

*in the end, due to some miscalculation, this entry was up later than i planned, it's already 2011*

long ago, i've thought of making this kind of entry where i would list out all what i've read and watched throughout the whole year. well, and this kinda made me torn whether to post this here in blogger where my real life are much more enclosed or the other channel i use in my livejournal account where it encompasses more on the subject of my fancy-for instance my fandom on flumpool.

but then, i don't sense the line distinguishing the two of them, what i like is pretty much what makes up my life, isn't it. like how i learn and improve my Japanese language skill majorly owing to engrossing in too much dramas. or how i maintained my English skill from rusting away by reading novels-though i don't think this really worth much praise.

so much of an intro there. basically it's a list of books i read, dramas and movies i watched in year 2010-listed chronologically.

海+月=?

海月
it's read as くらげ (kurage)

well, the kanji, one by one brings the meaning of 'sea' and 'moon'

combined, it means jellyfish.

a creature that majorly consist of water and little of everything else. fleeting through the waters like nothing else matters.

it reminds me of our visit to JIMAH power plant, where i got a glimpse of the above mentioned creature but quite different to my usual image of it. never did i know there would be one of this size. i did only watch from above when it fleeted near the surface of the water but i guess the full picture must be something like this.

it's still jellyfish, yes.

ok, i prefer to be near to the ones in the first picture, or more accurately i'd love to simply watch them, though people might say i better do many other things than that. but, animals just soothe you in a way you can hardly comprehend why. they just do. that's what great about God's creations. All praises to Him, Subhanallah~

and the reason why my interest perked up to this creature out of a sudden is because of the following.

yes, i'm absorbed in drama yet again. this time it's Nagareboshi (among other dramas i'm engrossed at the moment). a bittersweet love story enough to keep my interest aroused and maintained. at times painful, at times funny. and call me a girl because i really am one, i can't escape from being mesmerized.

like here's what i call marvel of God's creations. XD somehow he constantly reminds me of someone so close though. guess who? hehehe

owls

as my main concern at the moment is the coming exam, an anxiety i possess as of now is that how can i fix my sleep hours before the the exam starts. i've been nocturnal since recently but it doesn't seem i use the whole night to any much benefit.

but, today, while i was trying to struggle through this whole jouhou tsushin report we have to hand in by this week, as usual, my concentration immediately deviated and my anticipation for the next episode of bloody monday led me to the discussion forum relating it. well, for the 1st one i watched last week, i was saved with the presence of subtitles-the japanese one coz english is yet to be available. for me who is hard to catch every single detail of what they're saying, that was truly helpful. i'm not originally much of an audio-type learner after all. so, while checking out for the sub for the next episode, there was a very interesting stuff brought up in the discussion. i discover a software that serves as a learning tool especially in learning language. (lame? not until u see the review).

now i feel programmers are really great.

this is great news to me, at least, for i am learning nihongo and can't deny it's quite difficult. roughly, this software is like a flashcard in your computer, but it possesses intelligence. as many theories state, repetition makes ur memory stays longer. this software called 'Anki' uses that as the key concept. okay, on top of that, i discover an accompanying software-subs2srs too where it ables you to save the lines from the movie/drama/anything u watch and make it part of the cards u have in Anki. interesting? i haven't read thru about the later software, but it's very appealing to me. to remind, i'm an avid watcher of dorama/anime, so i think why don't i just make full advantage of it? now, it won't be a complete waste to spend hours watching them when i can make it as part of my learning... hehehe i wonder how much vocab i can learn by watching 'bloody monday' alone. when i watched it last week, my understanding only extends as far as 60% i suppose.

so, there adds the thing i'm looking forward too once the exam ends. definitely worth it to give these a try.

but, iman, please, focus on your priority! .....but those are just irresistible. aren't they? what more, now the fore-mentioned 'bloody monday' really held me in surprise by its sudden development, i'm just urged to watch more.

p/s: recently i've been so active blogging, a clear evidence of my attempt to keep my distance from this dear notebook as a total vain. and today too i just read the manga of 'bloody monday' (straight to the 2nd installment, the 1st one is too long to read now) just because out of curiosity as to how the story differs to the drama adaptation. man, that's a whole lot different! the dorama made me shed tears.

my february wishlist *edited

hohoho, now we're already in the middle of january when we didn't realize it... and i haven't even gotten used to write 2010 in the date entry yet

so, for the coming month, there gotta be much things to be look forward to

like the EXAM for example

so my wishlist #1 is definitely making thru the exam safely and with ease, please ya allah, let all of us pass through this ordeal smoothly and next pave our way to nihon altogether without a hitch....

and wishlist #2 is...........

it's just tempting and alluring (though i pretty much know the whole contents of the dvd) but the offer that comes with its first press edition sure is seducing. and what more, when its original price is apparently 5800yen, i just found a place with a greater deal.

+++utterly irresistible+++

and carrying forward from my unattained list, wishlist #3 is  'Twenties Girls' by sophie kinsella. i know this is last year's but still, they haven't released the cheap paperback. so i have to hold until then.

and the next also goes to more novels (getting fired up after recently finished 'Nation' -such marvellous story, u just long for more)

in fact, when i checked as wiki.d-addict for the dorama for winter, there're surprisingly much that are adaptations  from manga:
  • Liar Game 2 (oops, this has run for several episodes already but yet to watch it)
  • Bloody Monday 2 (of coz, so looking forward to this, what more, flumpool sing for the ost again)
  • Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (it got Kame so i dunno whether to watch or not)
  • Shinsengumi PEACE MAKER (i remember how much i love the original work n later somehow i accidentally bought the anime dvd with chinese subs :P)
  • Angel Bank (unexpectedly a spin-off from Dragon Zakura)
  • Tokujo Kabachi!!(Sakurai Sho and Maki star in this one, kinda interesting)
so, might this include in my wishlist? to be able to watch more doramas..... well, exam's over before february ends after all. ngehehehe

p/s: what got me hyped up more tonight is probably because i got to see such gorgeous image of ryuuta by chance. he really can make a living through modeling were music hasn't chosen him.

swayed in fantasy

can't escape the fact i'm a drama-addict.

truthfully, given the holiday, i staked out my eyes just to feed this insatiable obsession. it's a wonder how i can last watching drama continuously for hours but i can hardly last even for half an hour in my class.

oh, must be because there aren't any ikemen to be sighted in the latter case XP

or, the storyline never gets me bored throughout the whole of it. more like getting me jumpy from time to time.

oh, can never understand why a surreal topic such as love can make it so engrossing. not like i ever know how it actually takes its form in this real world. perhaps, it just triggers the curiosity that makes it so appealing.

or, simply because Satan keeps on whispering to continue being lulled in this fantasy.

that's more like it.

nevertheless, i can't deny creatures such as human can be so beautiful, so pleasing to the sight you can't take eyes of them. there also lies the wonder of the makeup world where almost everything can turn out perfect. must be hardwork for all those makeup artistes to reach that perfection. and the exploitation of this amazing side of humans contributes to the boom we have now where fandom equals to paradise.

i'm a healthy teenage girl with all the hormones flowing, that's why i can't help but to be among these flocks-those who find the opposite gender are attractive, especially the good-looking ones.

shifting a bit from my usual dose of japanese ones, recently i got caught with the ones from their neighboring country. indeed, korean dramas are quite lengthy but you just get stuck on it. what more i am the type of person who once start watching one, i'll continue till the end as soon as it is available. so, if the whole series are in my reach, i can finish watching it in such a short time as i tend to watch them non-stop.

i completed korean version of 'boys over flowers' extending to 25 episodes in just 3 days. and each episode is not less than 60 minutes long. following that, as they say "curiosity kills the cat", as silly as i am just trying to peek a look at another korean series which my sis recommended a lot, it then kills the next two days of mine. or more correctly, nights.

i've become nocturnal.

i'm perfectly killed by their charms and excellent actings. which also begins my wonder as to why these kind of stories just so appealing to the masses.

moving on to the thinking phase..... at last, the neurons got some work to do

oh yea, still got the homeworks to be done, oh my, just why the c language and the others continue to torment me even amidst this lovely break....

um, better hone my nihongo for the sake of my studies.... so, let's go on to the listening practice? XD

chou baka

the above was the conclusion we made when we couldn't solve a question regarded by our sensei as chou kantan.

anyway, i totally went out of my way by writing here today, supposedly my droopy eyes have made that firm declaration i should already be on bed now, but still, to be glued to this notebook is like inevitable now. btw, for the past 2 days, my sleeping pattern was evidently destroyed. for the day b4 yesterday, i didn't even get a wink during the night and the following night i slept straight after maghrib only to wake up in confusion past midnight. and continue being awake since.

the obvious result : a very bad sleeping in class, worse than usual.

and i'm afraid i'm gonna repeat that for tomorrow. it just seems like so

anyhow, i could just say i'm plainly irritated at the moment. a sudden dread for the coming of tomorrow comes over...

and also re-realize how dreadful the C-language were u not to put any interest in it, at all.
well, i could see my interest all go the Jdrama alone.

and i just watched one whole series Celeb to Binbo Taro in just 2 nights.
and further listening practice for today, i was exhilarated to find so much direct download links for my obsession.

the result : amidst the rush to memorize the script for my presentation, i spent my time watching a movie. the one starring kubodzuka yousuke whose voice i find so mesmerizing. thanks to the character he brought that of a mentally altered boy, the slow and one-by-one words that he said are easily understood by me who forgot to download the subtitle. and he's just too adorable to look at.

anyway, yesterday's presentation went all right, i guess, though i can't help laughing midway when my friend suddenly laugh. i just hope thye could understand all those, i think i spoke too fast for anyone to comprehend but glad i succeed in racing against time, i made it b4 the time limit.

the moral of the story : preparation is very important, don't do it just the night b4 u have a presentation, what more if u got only so limited a time.

odaijini...

seems like more and more of my friends are getting sick, it is just contagious, this sick thingy, alhamdulillah i'm already over it, hopefully to stay in health for a long time to come

as the fear of H1N1 is getting ever more greater with increasing number of cases and death, here's a reminder. be hygienic!

and also, eat more fruits, they provide you with the vitamins you need to strengthen urself, ur antibodies and all....

while my fever has recently gone out for good, my flumpool fever just go up and up!! just why are these guys so adorable? can't wait for my DVD to reach into my hands..... well, since i can't actually go witnessing their live, am just hoping this recorded one could satiate my obsession....

talking about obsession, my obsession on japanese dramas didn't seem to cool down, didn't quite believe it that i actually had watched over 70 series in less than 2 years, thtw ould bring an average of 1 whole series each week.

ryuusei no kizuna continued

gosh, never did i think the story would turn out to be more exciting than i expected. i surfed back the info site, yeah, before, i didn't realize that one its genres is comedy. truly, the comedy element in this story is sooo entertaining. nevertheless, the poignant core of the drama is still focused along the story.

actually, there are hilarious moments they had created despite these painful faces they wear

continuing from the first episode, i watch another 3 episodes of ryuusei no kizuna. i laughed hard. as i mentioned before, in episode 1, the siblings worked out a plan in order to retrieve the money shizuna had lost to a swindler (oh, forgot to mention, the siblings' name are kouichi, taisuke and shizuna). in fact, the plan itself means they became a swindler. the plan, engineered by the eldest, kouichi, even have its own name; "letter from canada". it was so ingenious it went hilariously perfect and they got the money after all. but i would never guess the story will take its course of where the siblings continue this swindling work! at first, i didn't refer it as swindling though as the next plan was directed toward shizuna's ex-boss who made her super annoyed with his attitude. so, it was obscured with the intention of paying back. but, when i look back, yes, they swindled the man's money in the end. this second plan was called, "Takayama Hasanobu, the delusional chief clerk". now, they all look more like detailed play scripts rather than plans. so, in this second play directed by kouichi, shizuna really did become a good actor in swindling. againAlign Center, she disguised as another woman who really caught his ex-boss's heart. taisuke(the second brother) on the other hand, plays as a bank employee who offers an investment offer-this is the scam. yes, he fell for it, not purely on the investment, it was because of shizuna. from this plan, they got 150000 yen. the most interesting part here is, kouichi was so into the plan, he made logo representing them (i forgot when it first appears but i'll surely find it).

the following plans that kouichi came up including one after they suddenly found their old friend from the institution they were sent to when their parents died. the girl was pregnant from the affair she had with her ex-middle school teacher. the problem arose when he didn't want to take responsibility. so, the script is shizuna approaches the teacher as his ex-student. the bait was that this ex-students willingly lent him money after the teacher confided in her about the girl he made pregnant. so, as an obligation, the teachers return the money when he had handed the borrowed money to the pregnant girl. ok, it does not stop at that. they deceived this teacher into buying a insurance premium after he thought this ex-student of his is struggling a hard deal working as an insurance seller. now, that's the catch. the script comes to conclusion with the teacher opened the yearbook and discovered that the name of this ex-student is actually a boy. pretty cunning, right.

the next one is what brings the story to its conflict. this next script was crafted just because kouichi was irritated by this one son to a boss of a big restaurant chains. this plan is more high-sophisticated than the previous ones. to cheat this man, shizuna acts as a girl newly arrived from abroad, so this requires shizuna to study english all of a sudden. taisuke on the other hand, acts as a jeweller, well, he got to learn jewellery, something really out of his field. the plan was to use shizuna's charm to make him buy a ring for her. it would end with both money and ring to their hands. the deception plan went good and of course a joy to watch. just see how shizuna acts as a college girl honestly telling what's on her mind. however, this came difficult for shizuna as she continued on the script. because the other party is a restaurant owner, it is highly related to her memory of her father.and...... what's going to shock them the most is, the key to the murder of their parents is at none other place but here!

so, the suspense just builds higher and higher now. while these hilarious swindling affairs serve as an insight of how they strive to continue their life, it's none other than a side story to the main aspect of the dorama. the promise they had made since childhood, that is to find the murderer and get revenge by themselves still lives on. the frequent flashbacks from the time their parents were killed emphasises their will to make the oath come true. well, this story promises to be more exciting and more puzzles which surely would get me hooked to it even more.

i found the logo, look, it's cute, right?

BLOODY MONDAY:manga and dorama

continuing from the previous entry, the next series i instantly took in favour is 'Bloody Monday'. even the title itself sounds terrifying. yes, it is because in the story, a whole nation is threatened by a deadly virus meant to cease the existence of its massive population. the dorama is based on a manga. so, beforehand, i already read the manga and i know, i should watch this! not only because the main star is attractive (the one plays Ren in gokusen 3), the plot is exciting too, always making me on edges.

to compare the manga and the dorama, the story is intact but there is a slight changes in the details and arrangement of events and the matter of decency. it was a shonen manga to begin with, so some exposure of 'those' thingy is originally high than the dorama which must fit to various audiences. the first episode of the dorama unexpectedly took long enough. i watched in mysoju and there were 6 parts of it in which each parts spans more than 10 mins. the protagonist, takagi fujimaru is only a highschooler but he posesses such an amazing skill in hacking, allegedly a legend. supposedly, about 2 years ago, he had sworn to his father-a member of a special division in the authority, never to do hacking again. however, due to some circumstance, he actually do it once again when one of his teacher went over the limit. this case differs from the manga where ths suspended students are a couple who were caught kissing. the trigger to kitagi's involvement is the suicide attempt by the suspended girl. in the dorama, a girl who worked part-time is suspended, after the teacher made an offer to the girl to give herself to him but the girl refused-coincidentally, takagi noticed the girl ran from the teacher's lab and caused his suspicions. so, i think this beginning is not so strong. progressing to the centre of the story-about the virus plan, the opponent side reveals more figures than in manga while both focus on Maya, the women who approaches takagi as a teacher. in addition to that, the drama features the existence another hacker on the other side that is as good as takagi. while takagi is using his famous alias, Falcon, the other one is Bluebird. before that, the time when his father was framed as a murderer making him a fugitive, the resulting course of events differs too. in the dorama it seems that his own whole division suspects him in the murder. there is a woman who would come to takagi's house and and be by their side, however the dorama features her as the observer from the division instead of someone trusted by takagi's father who believes in his innocence like in manga. here. takagi is left with no one to trust.

[manga volume 1]

talking about trust, in manga, he actually has a circle of friends who borrow their strengths while takagi struggle to discover the truth. in dorama, he is alone, only the double-faced maya with him. the whole story starts when takagi decode a file about a christmas massacre that whips out a whole town in russia, a small trial of the effectiveness of the virus. it was a request from his father initially as a part the division he works in (also known as third-i). when his father has become a fugitive, he is told to forget about it, yet he decode that after all. in the manga, this was the time his friends-the newspaper committee knew about the whole things and offer their support. in dorama, he directly pass it to the woman from the third-i which stays suspicious of his father. the next sequence of event where takagi's sister, haruka got kidnapped resolved differently too. in the absence of anyone by his side but the woman from third-i, he tried to save his sister in a less stylish way than in manga where it involves his friends who includes a prodigy in karate and archery. the term set by the kidnapper is the same which requires him to haack into a power station system but the action brings different meaning in manga and dorama. the manga concludes the goal from that term is purely to make sure takagi does the hacking while in dorama, they actually in need of the info from the hacking for the next turn of event which is truly shocking. they cause a stir in a shopping complex after causing a blackout and spreading fumes from an unknown box. this by itself contains some actions. all the important figures in third-i (again, in dorama, they truly suspect takagi's dad) and takagi himself gathered in the midst of confusion. the situation was really panicking with fear of the virus threat. there was quite a chaos there. however it was finally resolved but it ended that the affair at the complex signifies that the opponent had already got hold of falcon, in what way, i'm that slow to figure out by myself.

either way, it's undoubtedly an excitable turn of plot for both manga and dorama. a definite must watch. honestly i prefer the manga for its emphasis on friends' element and a more laid back attitude of takagi, but the dorama itself is a fabulous show full of suspense and actions. another episode made me anticipating more and more. really looking forward to the next one.

Bonds under the falling stars

oh god, i'm sure i've promised myself not to get engrossed in dorama again, at least for this crucial second sem. but no, i just had to find my new obsession and there it goes. i'm already hooked to it, not just one, but two!

so, after a long while, i deviantly resumed my downloading routine. it started with 'ryuusei no kizuna'. at first, i thought i'll only look forward to it after this sem is over, or the earliest during the year-end holidays. however, to find it already on the net, it was such an hard-to-resist temptation. feel kinda kinda relieved even though the 3-day interval in completing its first episode seems absurd, at least i'm not occupied in front of the comp during that time span. the past week had also been a tough one, with the physics quiz and all. it's not like the other weeks hadn't been tough enough, and the upcoming week too, i have nihongo achievement test in schedule and assignments to finish, gosh, i really a big-fat procrastinator. ok , back to the topic, the dorama was awesome!! it was worth it waiting for such a long time until it finished downloading. ok, roughly, the story is about siblings of three whose parents were killed when they were children, on the night they surreptitiously went out of the house to watch falling stars and returned only to find their parents' cold bodies in a pool of blood. the story catches up when they're already grown-up with the murderer still at large and only months away before the case officially closes. the eldest brother however is determined to find this man who had wrecked their lives. the irony here is that the one who stars as this eldest of the siblings who carry the sufferings throughout his life and bears a painful expression in his face is ninomiya kazunari-a member of arashi who had the most cheerful face and one can't help but to find him adorable. compared to his last series-'yamada tarou monogatari', this is an absolute shift of his character. on the other hand, the one who plays as the second brother who is cheeky with a playful attitude is nishikado ryou-the famous Asou in 1 litre of tears. i haven't watch that whole series yet, but i watched him in 'last friends'-he plays as a psycho guy here, really scared me. here, they make a fabulous mix of characters. oh, not to forget, the last of the sibling is their sister who actually unrelated by blood, to make the story more interesting, of course this vital fact is still unknown to her.

at first impression, my perception was that this gonna be a sad story, full of displays of their sufferings while the whole truth unfolds before them. instead, what i got from its very episode seems to trample that idea. yes, they had a painful, unerasable memory and an incomplete childhood. they even bear massive distrust towards the cop who fail to catch the perpetrator of their parents' murder. even mentioning about the case would cause instant uneasiness. yet, in enduring so, they more or less live their life, in their own way. and this drama, had portrayed that amazingly well, in a somehow, beautiful way. there is an incident in the episode where the sister got swindled after giving up his job in a high-class firm for some reason. well, it was frustrating, anyone would. the eldest didn't give much expression at first, making the sister even madder. however, as the story progresses, the younger two plans to get the money back, and to their utter surprise-after their pathetic plan failed, their brother is already steps ahead in doing so. what more than that is the thing his brother had then was actually a brainy one which had required unthinkable efforts one would ever put. despite the painful look he always carry, he actually would go that far-investigating on his own, spending days scrutinizing suspects, and even crafting a whole detailed tactics in retrieving the lost money. oh gosh, that left his brother and sister astounded too, to witness such existence of an unexpected side of their brother. as an audience, me too was full of excitement by then. and guess what, the plan actually worked perfectly even with its bizarre method. well, it was really an enjoyable first episode. i'm really looking forward for the next one!

p/s : before the series, i listened to its theme song by arashi but i didn't quite like it but then, when i watch it, it really fits the dorama.

hanadan!!

hahaha, at long last, i got to watch the movie for hana yori dango!! it's not too exaggerated to say i'm over the clouds now. i am really happy. the drama series was so exciting and with the movie, i would say they managed to bring it to a very beautiful end. i remember i used to watch the series one episode after another, well, sometimes it made my heart jumped. nonetheless, the movie my heart jumped more than ever. hahaha. what made watching the movie overly exciting was by seeing it with friends-a lot of us. in fact, i went to the cineplex together with 10 others. even our TA came along, she only watch it now coz she didn't get the chance when it was showing in japan back then. thankfully, the movie is shown at sunway pyramid which is close from our place. without waiting for the weekend, we went there the evening of our last class of the week.

because of dinner, i was late for about 5-10 minutes. fortunately the moment i entered the hall, it was time when makino was presented with the tiara- i didn't miss the vital part of the story. in the movie, as the time space is years later after the series, they really look great. i still love hanazawa rui. he's so hot! tsukasa was somehow i realize having more manageable curls? makino on the other hand, although nearly graduated fromnuniversity, she still have the same look like when they were in high school. for the story, this movie mostly focused on this main couple and how they tried to retrieve the stolen tiara. tsukasa in this movie surely blurted out sweet and romantic lines it would really make your heart melt should those are meant for you. however, he's still as stupid as ever. all in all, though the theft of the tiara unveils itself as only a mere conspiracy, tsukasa and makino developed their characters as a more matured couple. i'm glad the movie doesn't include such 'hot' scenes that always appear in love stories. nevertheless, the passionate kiss on the wedding day was enough to suffice those elements. and also the scene when tsukasa was totally heated up but was disrupted before taking any single move was really funny- i laughed so hard my stomach ached. ah, talking about their wedding, that was truly a great wedding, considering the sentimental value they had on the venue. i wish i have a memorable wedding like that too. aah, so dreamlike. not enough of that, the last few minutes of the movie really gave it a satisfying ending. well, it doesn't escape the 'happily ever after' concept but there was a deeper meaning to the whole story. it kinda gave this kind of ending "i-may-not-know-what-comes-hereafter-but-i-would-surely-protect-this-happiness-no-matter-what". for me who could care less about love in her own life, i still get touched watching the story.

though not every one of was a staunch follower of the series, i admit we truly enjoyed it. i enjoyed it-very much. my 11 ringgit sure had flown but it was worth it. i don;t mind watching it again. i would still smile and grin like it's first time. oh, last night was even more delighting for me as i could get hold of sophie kinsella's new novel 'Remember me'. i'm halfway reading it now n i guess i would finish earlier than i thought. i didn't mind another 35 ringgit flown away. the story is just fabulous!

but then i remembered, i have physics quiz next week and i hadn't make any effort in studying it.
